NEW POST
I apologize but I have been busy.
Kelsen has been busy.
Raumi has been busy.
We stay busy.
Thanks for stopping by, maybe if it gets cold and I get stuck in this house I will post more but when its nice outside I am not forcing myself to sit and type a blog entry. The only reason I am doing this now is because its 6am and it is raining out. If it wasnt raining I would probably be outside running or mowing or playing golf. Consider yourself lucky.

SLACKER
Yep, I have titled this post after me, the blog slacker. No real excuse for not blogging. Its just that with Facebook, blogging has taken a back seat. Well not today. Today.....we blog!
I am lazy, real lazy so in an effort to entertain but not take too much of my valueable time, I will offer a list of things we have been doing.
1. WATER....we had water in our basement on Good Friday. We are still dealing with the after affects of this. The new sump pump (#2) is in, now to replace the pad and carpet. Enough already.
2. Kelsen's birthday was a success. I have a theroy that turning 4 is the most awesomest. He had FOUR, count 'em 4 parties on his 4th birthday. Birthday party 1 was with his "buddies" at Bismarck Gymnastics Academy. Birtday party two was at Space Aliens with family. Birthday parties 3 and 4 were with pre-school and daycare. Man I wish I was 4 again, hell I wish I was 34 again!

3. KayCee requested, very unkindly btw, that I update this blog. So with that we would like to honor KayCee. I mean Kelsen. One of them was homecoming queen.

4. If you are only here for the photos, that was it, there will be no more so you can go now. If you are here for the humor, hold on tight, we are getting there. See we just got there.
5. Speaking of funny, its hard work being funny. Its a gift I understand that and I am grateful for being humorous but let me tell you its not something you can turn on or off like a switch. For me I can almost instantly tell when I wake up within the first 15 minutes if today I will be "funny Ryan". As you know more times than not you will see "funny Ryan" but sometimes you get "trying to hard to be funny Ryan" or "wake up and try again tomorrow funny Ryan".
6. Kelsen is in Itty Bitty Basketball at the YMCA. Its a good solid hour of "skills". Kelsen does well but his attention span is lacking. Either way he likes it. I think he associates basketball with fast food. And then he associates fast food with "junk" toy from said fast food place. Whatever works I guess.
7. Kelsen is "transitioning" to a big boy bed. We won't disclose where he was sleeping, just know that it was warm and cozy.
8. My birthday was a success as well. Great gifts. Matt and Ang even sent a pan of scotcheroos across 3 states. It didnt matter they were awesome.

(just seeing if you photo people are sticking around)
9. Happy Belated Birthday to Holli. She turned 20. She also was the only one out of Kelsen, Holli and I, that DIDN'T request brownies for their birthday dessert.
10. Midcontinent Cable sucks. Just thought I would add that.
We are all fine, we have some fun stuff planned for this summer.....REGENT Reunion, a quick trip to Medora, and family vacation (Raumi) to Minnesota. Now if the weather will just get nice so we can get on the river.

Broken Arms Hurt
You all probably have been wondering why its been so long since I posted. Let's just say its hard to type with only your left arm. About 2 1/2 weeks ago, I was cooking Raumi and Kelsen supper. It was one of my specialities, Glazed Paremseasan Crusted Salmon and Red Roasted Potato's. As I was peeling the taters the garbage disposal jammed. Being Mr. Fix it I attempted to dislodge whatever was jammed in the disposal. This was the result:

Not much else to report. We are all doing well and one of us is patiently awaiting a birthday. The other one is indifferent. In the meantime we have been busy putting the final touches on our basement, which is not 97% complete. However it would be 98% but I scratched the shit out of the bathroom floor, as I was ubberly excited to get my new TV up. Darn it.
Kelsen is waiting for the Easter Bunny, Raumi is waiting for Kelsen to see the Easter Bunny and I am waiting to get that darn bowling title back!
Some things to think about:
Why do grills have side burners? Do you use YOUR side burners? Do you know anyone who uses them regularly? They are useless.
Last Sunday was Palm/Passion Sunday. We sat in the balcony. Bad idea. Kelsen thought it was his personal section, trying to roam freely. In any case, I have often found the passion to be hard to follow and quite frankly, boring. I wish Cathedral would do like a live "passion" with actual characters. I mean you tell me kids wouldn't be interested in this. Even most adult would enjoy this. Someone get on this and make this happen.
This past Saturday we took Kelsen to the Dakota Zoo Easter egg hunt. There were like 16,000 people there, well not really but there was like 4,000. It was organized chaos to say the least. Anyway Kelsen got 3 eggs with candy. We were going to stay for the Guinness Book of World Records attempt at the Bunny Hop but it was too cold for the little guy. I have been obsessed with the Guinness Book of World Records since I was a young lad (I always remember ordering the books thru the school and then looking at crazy stuff like Worlds Tallest Person and Biggest Blown Bubblegum Bubble). It was my opportunity and I missed it. Is it gone forever? Who knows?
Once a week I allow Kelsen to get either Chicken Nuggets or a Cheese Burger from McDonald's. No happy meal or anything like that but just some good old fashion fast food. I often feel I am encouraging his obesity. Oh well. It does make me wonder how many Happy Meals a kid with a super cool dad, unlike me, eats from ages 2-12.....any guesses? I bets it astronomical, especially if they have to drive by McDonald's 2 times per day!
Speaking of food, I wish there was a contest for making Easy Mac. I would be the odds on favorite. I can measure 2/3 cup water without a measuring cup better than anyone. Easy mac should be renamed Kuder mac.
Lastly, on Food Networks Food Wars they has a showdown of JUCY LUCY's. Let's just say Matts Bar and the original JUCY LUCY won! Hell yeah! Raumi wants one so bad. I told her we can stop next time we are in the cities if she is a good girl.

As of today, APRIL 1, it is exactly 84 days until the RANGER REUNION!!! Are you ready?

Time Flies
Wow, has it really been 3+ weeks since my last post. By the looks of it, it has been. Either our lives have become extremely boring or extremly busy. I guess we can settle on a combo of both.

The above picture does not do it justice but the other night Kelsen decided he was going to "manage" me in the kitchen. Basically I took orders from him as I cooked supper. When I finally got the camera out, he decided to hit the "shy" button.
Raumi and I have both been busy at work and Kelsen has been busy at daycare and pre-school. Kelsen has finally adjusted to the routine of pre-school and is starting to enjoy it. He is learning some new things and is able to socialize with kids his own age. He even is pretty comfortable around the Dell Laptop. Webkinz is a pretty neat site.

Yeah we watched the Olympics...and Kelsen could not get enough hockey-Go USA! or Apollo Ohno.
We are again in the middle of a re-model. Fireplace and "entertainment" wall in our basement. It never seems to end with these home projects. I have been hands off for most of it, I prefer to "contract" things out rather than risk breaking something or drilling a hole in someones finger.
Basketball and specifically March Madness is starting to consume us, however it just isnt the same watching it on the bedroom TV. Goal is to have this basement fully functional no later than Final Four weekend.
I have been growing a beard, nobody likes it. To those I say, too bad. It's Lent and Jesus had a beard so I to shall honor Him with a beard during these 40 days.
Okay the Big 12 Championship game is getting close I must be going.
Spring has got to be here soon! It was 41 degrees on Friday and neither Kelsen or I could resist getting Kelsen's BIG truck he got from Uncle Neil out and taking it for a spin. The results....got stuck 2 times in the snow and 1 oil change.

Before I go I want to say Happy Birthday to the BESTEST Sister in the world....Happy Birthday Ronda Lee G, We Love you.
